  • 2003 to Present - John Aplin established his law office in Ouachita Parish providing criminal defense, personal injury, civil litigation, succession, and family law legal services throughout Louisiana. John Aplin is admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana, the United States District Courts for the Western District of Louisiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

4th Judicial District Attorney's Office - Ouachita Parish, Louisiana 

  • 2008 to 2016 - Served as an assistant district attorney in the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office in Ouachita Parish where he worked as a felony prosecutor. He personally handled thousands of felony violations involving hundreds of felony criminal cases.

4th Judicial District Indigent Defender Board - Ouachita Parish, Louisiana

  • 2006 to 2008 - Served as a contract attorney with the 4th Judicial District Indigent Defender Board providing criminal defense services to hundreds of indigent defendants with pending felony charges in the 4th Judicial District Court.

37th Judicial District Attorney's Office - Caldwell Parish, Louisiana

  • 2004 to 2006 -Served as an assistant district attorney in the 37th Judicial District Attorney's Office in Caldwell Parish where he prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases.

Monroe Police Department - Monroe, Louisiana

  • 1989 to 1997 - Served as a P.O.S.T. certified police officer for the City of Monroe, Louisiana where he was assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division. Additionally, he was assigned to Monroe Police Department's Traffic Investigation Unit where his duties included investigating: all vehicle accidents involving fatalities; accidents involving police vehicles with injuries; accidents involving fault on part of City of Monroe police officers; accidents involving any City of Monroe vehicle with injuries; and all accidents involving serious or life threatening injuries.
